I've been tagged by Kat for awhile now (sorry I just got around to doing it). Just about every blog I read has this up, so funny how the 'interweb' is so vast with thousands upon thousands of knit blogs and everyone has the same meme. I love reading random facts about everyone too. So here I go, hopefully I can keep this interesting.
1.) I am an only child. Though I did grow up with lots and lots of cousins. How many cousins? Hard to say. My mother was #9 of 11 (2 boys and 9 girls!). Most of us lived within a 10 min drive of each other. So we were all shuffled around from house to house depending on who was working, who's birthday it was, or who was hosting what holiday.
2.) There are 4 cousins whom I think of as sisters. the 4 of them grew up together also, 3 of which are sisters. They teased me, dried my tears, listened to me, helped me with my homework, helped me through that awkward pre-teen/teen years, taught me how to drive (they are all older like 6+ years older than me), took me to parties and let me practice talking to boys, of course I was designated driver so they could drink. And basically watched my back. When I moved out on my own 1 of them was my roommate for many, many fun years. Now we're all married, have kids and starting another chapter. Their kids I consider my nieces and nephews and they feel the same with my little girl.
3. ) One year when money was really tight (single mom and all) my mother and I gave each other 'handmade' gifts. So my mom who was always working made me coupons like get out of chores coupon, breakfast in bed coupon and stuff like that. Now let me set this up a bit. I had insomnia for almost all of high school and a couple of months in college. So I would on occasion sneak out of the house at night. (bad girl, I know) My mom caught me. I was grounded for forever. So that morning I turned in my coupon for breakfast in bed. I thought my mother was gonna kill me (not literally). My audacity is still talked about today.
4.) My husbands name is not Dragon. I have got almost everyone I know (and some co-workers I don't know) to call him Dragon. I'm very proud of that.
5.) As a stay at home mom you'd think I'd get alot of knitting done. Not the case. My daughter greatly inhibits my obsession. Honestly, I try to come up with things to keep her occupied. You see my daughter has what I call a lovey that she want with her at all times. She wants said lovey to not do anything when she holds it. That lovey is my arm. The whole thing. Mainly my right arm.
6.) I lived in Madrid, Spain for about 4 months. I loved it and hope to go back someday.
7.) My dream is to visit all 7 continents before I die though I don't really want to go to Antarctica for more than a day. Maybe take a cruise that's just 'passing by'.
