I got my 1st package from my secret pal today. I love everything. There are 3 skeins of Noro Kuryeon and a skein of Lamb's Pride a copy of the Fake Fair Isle hat and Orca scarf. (which is exactly what I need to make those 2 patterns) I can't wait to start the FFI Hat. Thanks PRGE Pal. Also included was a ball of Elizabeth Lavold Silky Wool, Crabtree & Evelyn Nantucket Briar Hand Therapy and some Lindt Mini Chocolate Lambs which my daughter got to before I could snap the picture. Notice the open wrapper she put back.
So I was sick last week, the main reason for no blogging. Just a regular cold & cough. But it was exhausting all I want to do was rest any physical activity (including reaching for the remote) knocked me out for hours. So that was a lot of down time. Then when I started feeling better, like a mad women, I started unpacking. I realized Easter is less than 2 weeks away and I have a houseful of guests coming and I still have lots to do. So that's what I've been doing.
Then exactly 1 week ago, when I was feeling better but not quite 100%, my daughter scared the crap out of me. When she woke up (8 am) I noticed a bump on her face. I figured mosquito bite, she was running around outside all day the previous day. No big deal. We eat breakfast, go outside to water the plants. Unpack. Have lunch (noon-ish). Then BAM! she's covered head to toe in welts. What the hell? My husband (whom I got the cold from) was home so we're looking her over, I'm on hold with the Dr's office. And I swear that they got bigger and redder and welt-y-er as I was holding. So I let the nurse know it looks like chicken pox. Can you be here in the next 30 min? Yes! I throw some mittens on her and when the Doc examines her she states nope not chicken pox, Pinwheels? I don't know, some kind of allergy. She stated usually the cause is never known and sometimes associated with viruses. Check her ears BAM! full blown ear infection, really red and ugly. So some antibiotics and some benadryl later we were doing okay.
